According to the National Institutes of Health, ulcerative colitis (UC) is a type of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). It is thought that UC is the result of a combination of genetic and environmental factors that influence the immune system.
Living with ulcerative colitis can be very difficult. The symptoms of this disease are uncomfortable, can be painful, and often interfere with daily activities.
To help with the symptoms of UC, doctors have a few options when prescribing treatments. However, for some people, treatments do not work well or at all. For others, treatments stop working. Some people cannot stop taking the medications without having symptoms return. And for still others, side effects of the treatments cannot be tolerated. For all these reasons, it is important that doctors and scientists continue the search for new and, hopefully, better treatment options for people with ulcerative colitis.
This is a research study of an investigational drug for ulcerative colitis. Medical research is required before drugs are approved for use, and this research would not be possible without volunteer study participants. This is why we hope you will provide your contact information to learn more.
Minimum requirements to participate:
This is not a complete list of requirements for participation. If you provide us with your contact information, we will promptly reach out to provide you with more information about our research study.
Participants who satisfy applicable requirements will be compensated for their time and expenses. The amount of compensation available and the applicable requirements will be discussed by the staff at the research center.
If you are interested in participating or just wish to learn more, please provide your contact information. Our goal is to contact all people who submit a contact form within two business days after submission.
Doctors and scientists are constantly discovering new medications and devices that may help prevent, detect, diagnose, control, and treat illnesses. A research study or clinical trial is a scientific study that tests these new discoveries. Research studies depend upon the participation of volunteers.
This research study may yield new information that could benefit people in the future by helping to answer questions about the effectiveness and safety of the investigational drug. By participating in this research study you would be getting more specialized medical care as well as top of the line diagnostic procedures.
Participation in a research study is completely voluntary. In all research studies, qualified potential participants are first informed about the research study in detail. After receiving this information, all participants must give their consent in writing to proceed. Some research studies involve more tests and doctor visits than the participant would normally have for an illness or condition.
Health Insurance is NOT required to participate.
You will not be charged for the investigational drug, study-related procedures and tests, or study visits with specialists.
Before participating in a research study, volunteers must meet specific requirements. These requirements are based on various factors, such as age, medical history, current health status, current medications, and allergies. These requirements are used to ensure the accuracy of the study as well as the safety of all participants. We will not know whether you satisfy all study requirements until we speak with you and, if appropriate, complete a screening assessment at our facilities.
