According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), endometriosis occurs when tissue that normally lines the uterus grows outside the uterus. A 2011 NIH study found that the number of American women who may have endometriosis could exceed five million.
Endometriosis is most common in women in their 30s and 40s. The primary symptoms are chronic pelvic pain and infertility. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, endometriosis may occur in about 75% of women with pelvic pain. "Pelvic pain" describes pain that occurs mostly or only in the region below a woman's belly button, including the lower stomach, lower back, buttocks, and genital area.
This study is to evaluate the investigational medication for this study, also called the study drug, in women with endometriosis. We will measure the effect that the study drug has on endometriosis pain, and we will evaluate the side effects of the study drug.
Since the symptoms of endometriosis affect so many women, it is important that research is conducted to continue to advance medical knowledge about potential treatments. Conducting such research depends on volunteer participants. This is why we hope you will provide us with your contact information to learn more about participating.
Participants must: |
|
* Be pre-menopausal between the ages of 18 and 49 |
|
* Have endometriosis |
|
* Have moderate-to-severe pelvic pain |
This is not a complete list of requirements for participation. If you provide us with your contact information, we will promptly reach out to provide you with more information about our research study.
Click Here ToWhile participation in a clinical trial, also called a research study, is voluntary, qualified volunteers participating in this study who satisfy applicable requirements will be compensated for time and travel expenses. Compensation will be discussed by the staff at the research clinic.
Please provide us with your contact information. We will contact you within two business days.
Doctors and scientists are constantly finding new drugs that may help prevent, detect, diagnose, control, and treat illnesses. A clinical trial or research study is a scientific study that tests these new discoveries. Clinical research studies depend upon the participation of volunteers.
This research study may yield new information that could benefit others in the future by helping to answer questions about the effectiveness and safety of the study drug. There is no guarantee that subjects will receive any direct benefit from being in the study.
In all clinical research studies, potential participants are first told about the research study in detail. After receiving this information, all participants must give their consent in writing to proceed. Some clinical research studies involve more tests and doctor visits than the participant would normally have for an illness or condition.
Health Insurance is NOT required to participate.
There are no charges for you to participate in this clinical research study. You will not be charged for the study drug, study-related procedures and tests, or study visits.
Before joining a clinical research study, volunteers must meet specific requirements. These requirements are based on various factors. These can include your age, medical history, current health status, current medications, and drug allergies. The list of things that must be satisfied before a person can participate in a clinical research study are called Inclusion Criteria. The list of things that will stop a person from participating in a clinical research study are called Exclusion Criteria. The Inclusion and Exclusion Criteria were developed to help make the results of the study accurate. They were also developed for the safety of all participants. We will not know whether you satisfy all study requirements until we speak with you and, if needed, complete a screening assessment at our facilities.
Clinical Research Partners began its journey in June 2011 to provide high-quality clinical trials of new medicines and treatments. We have since expanded our locations to provide more clinical studies throughout the greater Richmond area. We understand the tremendous benefits research trials can provide to our patients and to our communities.
